The Commons
The Commons is a landscape photo series that has involved 123 strangers met by chance, laying on sidewalk surfaces, across British Columbia, Canada. The images are highly edited by being repainted or ‘digitally reconstructed’ (adding grass, shadows, sidewalks etc.) in post-production, furthering unease and confusion of the dystopian urban spaces, and the figures within them.
This work has been exhibited with a minimum of three images from the series so viewers may perceive it as a larger urban setting rather than an individual’s circumstance.
